Local Embroidery Near Me
My interest in sewing started when I was a freshman in college. I always enjoyed crafting and putting things together and creating something from nothing. I had this desire to create beautiful pieces using fabric.
No one in my family had much experience with sewing other than basic button fixing. My granny came to visit for Christmas in 2014 and I was asking her if she knew much about sewing. She told me when she was younger, they learned the basics on sewing machines in school. So that Christmas, I got my first sewing machine and granny started teaching me how to use it.
I was living in the dorm in Joplin at MSSU and started sewing anything I could get my hands on. I decided to make all of my family's Christmas presents that year thinking it would be less expensive. I was greatly mistaken. I remember making my dad a hunting duffle bag and I purchased a little extra fabric but most all of it got used for the bag. I think I spent about $50 on that bag alone.
Right after Christmas we were walking through Academy and they had all of these duffle bags near the checkouts up on the wall shelf. Those bags were marked at $20 and there were hundreds of them. I guess this still translates to our economy today.
You can buy something that is made in China on an assembly line or you can choose to support the person who puts their heart into making something personalized for you. I hope I can be that person/ store that you choose to do your embroidery and screen printing. So next time you are looking for “local embroidery near me”, and my name pops up, I hope you give this small business a chance! I promise, we won’t disappoint.
